LEGISLATIVE ALERT

Once again EIPCa asks for you to CALL IN to a legislative committee meeting to support our positions on an important bill.

As a bill is being discussed, you will be given the opportunity and the directions to open your phone line. When your line is called, give your name, city or affiliation, and your position “support or oppose” on the bill.

 

Legislative Alert: AB 1206

ERIC for California? — Action Item Below for ALL Californians

 

The 2023-2024 legislative session is in full swing. California state legislators are working around the clock to amend current laws and pass new laws that will determine the way Californians live virtually every aspect of our lives. What they do will control how we live, what we eat, where and how we play and even how much control we have over our own personal property.

 

In a representative form of government such as our Constitutional Republic, it is crucial for Californians to know what laws are proposed “on their behalf” and take the opportunity to weigh in with their state representatives. In a state as large as California this can be difficult to do.

 

EIPCa’s purpose is to “defend through education, research and advocacy the civil rights of U.S. citizens
to fully participate in the election process under Federal and State law.”

 

To do this, EIPCa sends out Legislative (election laws) Alerts to help you get involved.

 

Here’s how:

1. Watch for EIPCa’s election laws ALERTS.

 

2. Email, phone or write your representatives
   1. before committee hearings if your representative is a member of the committee.
   2. before every floor vote.
   3. any time during the progress of a bill to keep your thoughts before them.

       

3. Meet with your representatives at their local offices whenever they are in town. Get to know them. Make sure they know you. Establish a relationship so they will care about your thoughts and opinions.

 

4. Call in to committee meetings to register your position on important bills. (EIPCa will instruct you how.)

    

Now, let’s get down to business:
EIPCa needs your help in opposing AB 1206!

 

If passed, California would apply to become part of

the disastrous ERIC system.

Action Steps:

3. Put aside 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, to call in to the hearing and register your opinion. The committee members need to hear from you!

    

   1. Watch for another Alert from EIPCa on Monday, March 27 with more detailed instructions.

 

4. If your Assembly representative is on the Elections Committee, email or call ASAP with your educated opinions and desires. Find committee members HERE  https://aelc.assembly.ca.gov/membersstaff

 

Clicking on members’ names will take you to their website so you can determine whether they represent your area of the state.
