Second Legislative Alert for AB 1206

KEEPING THE REPUBLIC:

Phone Calls and Visits Needed Again

Your State Assembly and Senate representatives are supposed to be working for YOU in Sacramento. But you must tell them what you want them to do, how you want them to vote, what you support, and what you do not. It’s time for us to stop being “absentee bosses.”

Use this link to find out who your representatives are: https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/

EIPCa asks you to contact your representatives from time to time to weigh in on proposed legislation. NOW is one of those times.

AB 1206, proposing California’s entering into a contract with the faulty, porous and questionable ERIC voter roll maintenance system, is up for its second committee hearing on April 25, 2023 at 1:30 P.M.  (Assembly Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee)

This committee does not accept call-in testimony, but there are still TWO ways you can make your voice heard.

  1. Many EIPCa volunteers and other election integrity supporters live in the same districts as members of the Assembly Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee

Citizens can use this to their advantage BEFORE THE HEARING

    • Check the chart below.

    • IF one of the listed Assembly Members represents YOUR DISTRICT, follow the instructions listed next:

Instructions:

  1. Call your representative (Local and Sacramento) …..OR

  2. Make a face-to-face office visit if possible.
    • Voice your opposition on AB 1206 and give several talking points in any order.

    • For talking points, see EIPCa’s newest opposition letter, submitted to the committee mentioned above.

    • On the phone, there is NO TIME LIMIT

    • Your opinion is more likely to be registered if you are brief, succinct and clear, as well as polite and reasonable.

    • Understand that as a constituent, your opinion will matter to them more than anyone else’s.

    • Your phone calls are essential!

  1. Since it is likely that this bill will be up for a floor vote of the entire Assembly soon, we must begin educate and influence ALL Assembly Members.

Review EIPCa’s two letters of opposition to this bill, linked HERE and HERE. Then call your Assembly Member’s local office (find number on their website) and do two things:

    • Make an appointment to go in and have a face-to-face discussion. You should do this often, get to know your representative and, more important, be sure your representative gets to know you and your expectations. Your goal is to be on a first-name basis and have each other’s cell number!!

      • Give your stance on upcoming legislation with the person who answers the phone, or leave it in a voice mail. Be polite and professional, and be knowledgeable.

Keeping the Republic takes time, dedication and occasional ACTION. But we MUST step up—our future and the future of our kids and grandkids is at stake.  We must be sure we leave them a country   than the one we were born into.

Thanks for your activism. As these hearings continue, EIPCa will alert you to similar opportunities to participate in Keeping the Republic from time to time. Be at the ready.
